In Contemplation like Mary
Choosing to live in the
contemplative desert of the enclosure,
Clare daily turned her gaze toward Christ and became like a house and tabernacle of God.
As Mary accepted and generated the Incarnate Word, so Clare
"by rooting the word in her heart and her heart in God"
expanded the space of silence and listening and showed each of us the way to enter the
inner dialogue with God that transforms our lives.

By welcoming the experience of contemplation in
solitude with God, we experience the beauty of
"being with the Lord",
by listening to his words intensely and internalizing the Gospel values into the depths of our heart.

A life in seclusion,
within the limitation of space, promotes a
deep contact with the microcosm that embodies, in the smallness of creation, all the wonder of the universe.
